Metallic Goodness

Last week, I didn't get the opportunity to blog as much as I had hoped.  It was my first week back to full-time at my "daytime" job.  I'm still adjusting to longer days and getting up at the crack of dawn more often.  I moved to a part-time role 13 years ago when my first son was born and with some changes occurring at my company this fall decided it was the right time to increase my hours.  I'm a bit exhausted but am hoping to get to feeling normal in the next few weeks.  Thanks for your patience as I adjust!

Today's card was a card we made at Stamp Club last week with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, my featured product of the week.  For this card, we used the Galvanized Metal Sheets which creates an awesome metal tile look to the card.  It reminds me of pieces of antique furniture I would come across when I used to go antiquing at Brimfield every year.  It goes so well with the Country Lane Suite in our Holiday Catalog.  Love it!

I will be showing how to use it with regular card stock on Wednesday, September 26 on my Facebook LIVE at 2.  Visit me at https://www.facebook.com/stampandscrapwithamy/ to see how to use it.  Here is what we used to make this card:

Dashing Along

Hey all!  I'm a little late posting today.  I had planned to get today's card finished up yesterday, but I was absolutely exhausted from a weekend of camping with the Cubbies.  I passed out on the couch right after dinner!  I probably got the most sleep ever on a camping trip, but guess it was still not enough.

Now, let's move on to the card!  This week, I'm focusing on the Dashing Along DSP.  This DSP is available only to hostesses as a freebie when their order totals $250.  Gather a group of friends and do an in-home workshop, catalog workshop or FB workshop this month and this paper can be yours.

The Dashing Deer Bundle coordinates perfectly with this paper!  Not only can you make Christmas cards, but you can also use it for thank you cards after the holidays.  Here is what was used in this card:

Dashing Deer Clear-Mount Bundle

Whisper White 8-1/2 X 11 Cardstock

Sahara Sand 8-1/2 X 11 Cardstock

Cherry Cobbler 8-1/2 X 11 Cardstock

Dashing Along Designer Series Paper

Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad

Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

A Little More Frost

Here is another card featuring our First Frost Bundle.  This is the perfect set to get if you are not ready to jump into the holidays.  I used the same color scheme from Monday's card.  I love being able to just pull out some coordinating supplies and create multiple card designs!  I was having a hard time initially finding color combos including Lovely Lipstick that didn't scream Christmas, but I think I found one I like: Lovely Lipstick, Gray Granite, Tranquil Tide and Whisper White.

Here are the ingredients for today's card:

Bundle of the Week: First Frost

With all the great new products in the new Holiday catalog, I've decided to focus my posts for this week on one of the new bundles, First Frost.  This set is not limited to the holidays.  It can be used year round.  It is part of the Frosted Floral Suite of products featured in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.    This set is one of our most versatile sets in this catalog.

Today's card can be used for wedding or other well wishing event.  I toned the floral images down using a sponge dauber to ink the stamp.  This gives a soft subtle look to these multidimensional stamps.

Something for the Birthday Boy

I decided to take a break from blogging on Labor Day and spend some time on my craft room instead.  For those of you who know me well, you know the craft room is the thorn in my side.  It seems to be the two car garage size walk in closet for my house where everyone dumps things and toys my kids have grown out of are laid to rest.  Every year, I set my sites on cleaning it and then get all consumed by volunteering all my free time.  This school year, I am setting limits.  With my handing over the reigns of Cubmaster in 2019, I'm working on making our Pack less dependent on me.  I'm also limiting the amount of volunteering I do in the kids' schools.  So this needs to be the school year that the craft room gets cleaned.  Baby steps!

Well, on to today's card!  Tonight, my youngest has a birthday party for one of his friends who also happens to be one of the scouts in our Pack, so I wanted to make him a special card.  I have to say this card is somewhat CASEd from an insert in on one of my Paper Pumkins this year.  I changed the colors and +/- some stamping.  I absolutely love how it came out and love the color scheme I chose.  I know a lot of people struggle with boy/masculine cards, but sometimes it is just a color adjustment that is needed.
